Shearwater Development will be breaking ground soon on this one story coastal cottage. The Cast Away Cottage will be built in Burton Village on lot #70, in between the Outfitter’s Center and the Burton Village Pool and Clubhouse.

Renee and Chris have officially broken ground on the “Loboda Crib” on Peppervine Court in Arlington Place. Their floor plans look awesome and I know how creative they both are, so we cannot wait to see this dream house become a reality.

It’s where recreation and relaxation go hand in hand….the Burton Village pool at Arlington Place is officially OPEN for summer. Now we just have to get the weather to cooperate! The pool does tend to warm up quite quick….it may take me a week or so but the kiddos sure don’t seem to mind already…..must have been a long winter or something

Brenda’s water aerobics will once again start in June….stay tuned to the blog and events calendar for the schedule.

The AP calendar sure is booking up fast! We’re excited to have so many friends, owners and guests visit this summer and enjoy the amenities throughout our neighborhood!

Spring Is In The Air & We Are On The Water!

Finally….a day on the water! Now this is what we’ve been waiting for….sun shining, everything in bloom, calm waters and days in the 70s. Here are some pictures from the first, of many, boat trips of the year…..

Kids Say the Darndest Things!

For those of us who have kids, we know all to well to expect the unexpected when they open those precious little mouths….especially in public! Our 2 year old never ceases to amaze me with what she picks up along the way and then repeats at the most opportune times.

It’s always a bonus when you can capture on paper exactly what they’re thinking. We just received a pile of thank you notes from the second grade class at the Arapahoe Charter School, which is right across the street from Arlington Place. They had an Easter egg hunt back at our clubhouse a couple of weeks ago. I am cracking up at these letters and thought I should share some of the quotes:

“….thank you for letting us have our Easter egg hunt in your building. I would like to live there…..”

“…..we pretended to hatch our eggs by sitting on them….”

“…..I am thankful even though we didn’t get to get in the pool…..” (it was 50 degrees)

“….we had a lot of fun at Arlington Place because we found our eggs there….”

“……we had fun on the playground and rolling down the mountain….” (by mountain I’m assuming they’re talking about the 10 foot berm behind the playground)

Thanks kids for the thoughtful notes and we hope you make the hunt an annual event!

L.I.F.T. Visits AP

The L.I.F.T. program (Leadership Information For Tomorrow) at Pamlico County High School, pays a visit to Arlington Place every year, and we had a great time showing everyone around yesterday. LIFT helps puts high schoolers on a track for future success and many of these freshmen already have their sights set on college and amazing careers….forensic scientists, veterinarians, midwife…just to name a few. Year after year I’m impressed by their drive and determination and it’s so refreshing to see our local future leaders on a path to make all of their dreams come true!
