Digging Up Pieces of the Past

We have a new (and surprisingly addicting) hobby…..combing the riverfront for sharks teeth.  A random fact….millions of years ago, the Neuse River used to be part of the Atlantic Ocean.  Don’t worry, there aren’t sharks in our river anymore…..which was of course my first question.   But with a couple scoops from the river bottom you can easily see that sharks used to rule our waters.  We found 43 the other day!

Blair says he’s not going to stop until he finds a Megladon tooth…..this hobby may be quickly turning into an obsession!
