In the Light of Day, Post-Arthur
First thing’s first….Happy Fourth of July!
Well, Hurricane Arthur has come and gone and Arlington Place was left unscathed. Wind, yes, rain, yes, but in the light of day we found just a couple of down branches and no flooding to speak of. Elevation appreciation once again in full effect!
The riverfront beach has a quiet calm to it today. Low water made for a beautiful morning stroll along the shore and uncovered lots of hidden treasures….mostly shark teeth. Check out today’s haul:
And from what we hear, the neighboring towns are back up and running also. The Croaker Festival will be in full swing this afternoon on the downtown Oriental waterfront. This picture was posted on TownDock.net this morning. The Croaker Festival is a local annual tradition called “Pamlico County’s Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration”. Wishing everyone a fun and safe holiday weekend full of the 4 F’s…..family, friends, food and fireworks!
