Annual Running of the Dragon

The Running of the Dragon has been a New Year’s tradition in Oriental since the 60s!  The dragon will once again make it’s annual appearance this Sunday, New Year’s Eve, in downtown Oriental.  The dragon will come out of hiding at 8:00pm and 11:30pm and make it’s way down Hodges Street.  Be sure to raid your kitchen cabinets for some noise makers to ward off the evil spirits and ring 2012….pots, pans and spoons seem to be the cooking utensils of choice for the locals.  And don’t forget to touch the dragon for an extra dose of good luck for the New Year!
