Question:  What’s the best time to look at real estate?

Answer:  When the area has had over 20 inches of rain in one week!

If you’re serious about finding your dream home and neighborhood, then elevations are going to be a major consideration in your ultimate decision.  Yes, we’re soggy but no where near flooded.  20 inches of rain is an insane amount in a short period of time so you can bet that if you’re high and dry now, you’ll be high and dry always.  The average elevation in Arlington Place is 25 feet ABOVE sea level, which means you don’t even have to carry flood insurance!  Compare that to most elevations on the Carolina Coast, especially after a huge rain, and see the difference for yourself.  The ‘great monsoon’ of 2010 has come and gone, and once again, elevation appreciation rules!
