Waterfront towns all up and down the Carolina Coast are getting in the holiday spirit with Christmas celebrations, festive decor, parades on dry land and parades on the water. An annual tradition in our neck of the woods is the Christmas flotilla where illuminated boats of all shapes and sizes join together in a waterway parade.
Oriental’s Spirit of Christmas celebration will be this weekend, Friday-Saturday, December 7-8. This annual event will cruise into gear with a flotilla of lighted boats and the lighting of the Oriental star at the harbor on Friday night. On Saturday, lots of open houses, a live Nativity, the Pamlico Chorale in concert and a Saturday afternoon parade, capped off by the lighting of the luminaries on Oriental’s main streets. The flotilla will coast into site on Friday around 5:30…hope to see everyone in downtown Oriental for the spirited festivities! More info on TownDock.com.
