Neuse River Day is tomorrow, Saturday June 2nd at Union Point Park in downtown New Bern. Arlington Place is once again co-sponsoring River Cruises with Camps Seafarer and Seagull on the double decker boat, the ‘Joy Boy’! The River Cruises are an annual highlight at NRD and are a big money maker for the Neuse Riverkeeper Foundation, an organization dedicated to education and protection of our beloved river. The ‘Joy Boy’ leaves the dock at 10:00, 12:00, 2:00 and 4:00.
And are you ready to take on the dragon? This years NRD will feature the ever popular Dragon Boat races. Each dragon boat is 45 feet long and has 20 rowers all paddling to the beat of a drummer who is perched in the front of the boat. Fun and eventful for participants and spectators alike.
We hope to see you at Union Point Park tomorrow. The weatherman says it’s going to be 80 degrees and sunny….perfect for a day at the park and a celebration of the water that makes our area such a special place to call home!
