The air has chilled off a bit, water is still warm, fish are biting, leaves are changing and there is so much going on in and around us that celebrate this time of year.

 

31st Annual NC Seafood Festival: October 6th, 7th & 8th

The North Carolina Seafood Festival is the largest 3-day festival in North Carolina. Enjoy an endless variety of seafood, entertainment, and educational exhibits while showing your support for the local seafood industry. Opening at the waterfront in Morehead City at noon on Friday. Be sure to catch the fireworks Saturday night at 9pm!

 

Old Front Porch Music Festival: October 6th & 7th

Come on down to Oriental, NC and enjoy some of the finest string musicians this side of the state! This year’s Headliner, The Red Clay Ramblers, will be taking the main stage from 3-5 pm on Saturday.
Other performers include: Saltwater Gold, Don Flemons, and Arlington’s own Rick and Ginny Vogt in the Brant Island Strings! Check out the website for a full list of performers and their schedules.

MumFest Kick-off Concert: October 13th, Festival: October 14th & 15th

Every year. downtown New Bern kicks off the fall season with one of the best award-winning festivals in North Carolina. From Craven Street to Broad Street come enjoy the awesome festivities, street performers and, of course, food!

10th Annual Oriental Chili Cookoff: October 28th

What’s better than all you can eat chili on a cool October day? At this delicious event, local chefs compete on the Oriental waterfront for the People’s Choice and Judges Awards and probably most important award of all……’best chili in town’ bragging rights!

Halloween Party & Trick or Treating at Arlington Place: October 31st

Lion and Tigers and… Ninjas? Be sure to leave your lights on! A growing annual tradition, the kiddos love making their rounds through the neighborhood and showing off their costumes….and filling their pumpkins of course! Party at the clubhouse at 5:00pm then BEWARE….the ghosts, superheros and princesses will be let loose in Burton Village, and will no doubt be on a sugar high!
