With new houses going up in Arlington Place, we thought it’s a perfect time to share a little “fixture fact”. Did you know that brass door knobs not only give your home a stylish nautical look, but can also disinfect themselves?  It’s called the oligodynamic effect, and takes about 8 hours. The ions of the metal are toxic to living cells such as algae, molds, spores, fungi, viruses, and more.  So keep that in mind next time you’re looking to switch things up in your home.  And mark my words folks, brass is back!  For some people (like the my mother) brass never left, but brass and gold are trending now as the finish of choice for many new homes.  See mom, you’ve just been ahead of the trend all this time!
