SUMMARY:Ovarian Cancer 5K
DESCRIPTION:This event will benefit ovarian cancer research through the Mucinous Ovarian Cancer Coalition. We are excited to offer a yearly event to raise funds and awareness about ovarian cancer. There is no screening method to detect ovarian cancer. The signs and symptoms of the disease are often vague. Some of the signs/symptoms include bloating\, feeling full quickly\, abdominal or pelvic pain\, and urinary frequency. All women with ovaries are at risk for this disease. Sign up and run or walk this race for all the important women in your life and help contribute to ovarian cancer research!\nRegistration Fees:\nIn-Person\n$35 – until June 14th\n$40 – June 15th – August 14th\n$45 – August 15th-September 27th (race t-shirt is not guaranteed)\nRunners in the 5K\, receive t-shirt with a custom logo form local artist Nel McLawhorn. T-shirt only guaranteed if ordered by August 15th. DESCRIPTION:Coastal Center for Hope & Healing (formerly known as Coastal Women’s Shelter) would like to invite you to celebrate our Run for Shelter 5K\, 10K\, & 1 Mile race/walk fundraiser Saturday\, June 14\, 2025\, at Creekside Park!\nMultiple options for 2025\nIn Person 5K (with safety precautions in place)\nIn Person 10K (with safety precautions in place)\nVirtual 5K (You can submit your run anytime between June 13-15)\nVirtual 10K (You can submit your run anytime between June 13-15)\nIn Person 1 mile (with safety precautions in place)\nOur 5K and 10K route is perfect for families\, strollers\, leashed dogs\, and competitive runners. Both the 5K and 10K are open to timed.  Our 1-mile fun run is perfect for adults looking for a smooth stroll and for kids to dash away!  Team and student discounts are available.  Coastal Center for Hope & Healing is continuing to offer the option to participate virtually in 2025. We will offer both 5K and 10K race options.  The 1-mile fun run will not be offered virtually.  We will offer race t-shirts to virtual runners.  IN-PERSON EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE RAIN OR SHINE.  In the case of thunder\, the in-person event will be rescheduled. SUMMARY:Neuse River Bridge Run
DESCRIPTION:Neuse River Bridge Run helps bridge gaps in our community!\nAdults and children\, lace up your running shoes for fun\, exercise and a worthy cause! For over 20 years\, the Neuse River Bridge Run (NRBR) has been uniting runners\, walkers\, volunteers and sponsors – all to support five important non-profit organizations in our community. Craven Community College Foundation\, The Filling Station\, Duffyfield Phoenix Project\, Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina\, and Twin River YMCA all benefit from your participation.\nOur mission is to serve the community by promoting a healthy\, active lifestyle. All six organizations are committed to working together to manage this event resulting in great benefits to our communities. The five organizations equally share 100% of the net revenue generated by the events. \nThe NRBR follows routes over bridges\, through historic neighborhoods\, and through downtown New Bern. We offer four events\, a 1/2 Marathon\, at 10K\, a 5K\, and the SuperKids Fun Run. In addition to the 4 in-person races the NRBR will continue to offer all four options as virtual events for 2025.\nPlease note that only the in-person ½ Marathon and 10K events can offer the full bridges experience. Virtual runners will need to plot their own course that does not include runs over the Neuse River Bridge. The Neuse River Bridge is only safe for runners on our designated in-person date of Saturday\, May 3\, 2025.\nIn-person 1/2 Marathon and the 10K courses feature a run over the large span of the Neuse River Bridge. All three courses\, 5K-10K-1/2 marathon\, include a run over the George Cunningham Bridge which spans the Trent River.  Then the courses wind through a circuit around and though historic New Bern. The races all finish on East Front Street in front of the Riverfront Convention Center of Craven County in New Bern.\nIN PERSON EVENTS\nRace Dates: Friday\, May 2 and Saturday\, May 3\, 2025\nSuperKids Fun Run\nRace day is Friday\, May 2\, 2025. The fee for the SuperKids Fun Run is $20 per child. Start time: 5:30 p.m.\nEarly Registration and Race Kit Pick-up\nThursday May 1\, 2025 – SuperKids Fun Run – Early Registration and Packet Pick-up for the Friday SuperKids Fun run will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Religious Community Services (RCS) located at 919 George St\, New Bern\, NC 28560\nClick Here for complete details about race day for the SuperKids Fun Run\n1/2 MARATHON\, 10K and 5K\nSaturday\, May 3\, 2025\nAll three of these events will be timed.
