SUMMARY:The Barley Chase 5k/10k
DESCRIPTION:The Barley Chase is a USATF Certified 5k/10k race located in Newport\, NC. Race day is Sunday\, October 19\, 2025 at 9:00 am. The race starts and ends at Shortway Brewing Co. and meanders through the heart of Newport.\nParticipants will receive a t-shirt\, finisher medal\, and 2 complimentary post-run pints at the after party!! ***All participants subject to ID check.***\n***T-Shirt size is not guaranteed for registrations after 8/31.\n*** Awards will be given to overall top 3 males & females and the top 2 in each age division for both males and females. Age Divisions are 14 & under\, 15-19\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, 70 & above. Water stations will be set up at the halfway points of each course.\nPacket pickup will take place Saturday\, October 18th 12-2 PM at Shortway Brewing Co. or you can pick up the morning of the race starting at 8:00am at the registration table located behind the brewery on Haskett St.\nOnline registration will close at 11:59 PM on Friday\, October 17th or when the race sells out.\nWaitlist will open after race is full and will be on a first come first served basis. If a spot becomes available\, first in line will receive an email and have 24 hours to register before it moves to the next in line.\n*Early Bird Pricing runs through June 30th\, after which prices increase by $5*\nThis race is be held annually in conjunction with Shortway Brewing Company’s anniversary party and will benefit nonprofit 501(c)(3)\, Bread & Barley.
