August 2026 Neighborhood Update

Aug 31, 2026 | Neighborhood Progress

  • Google reviews: Thanks to those who took the time to write a google review for Arlington Place.  We appreciate it so much!  If you haven’t yet written one and would like to, here’s the LINK.
  • The Taqueria San Luis taco truck will be parked at the AP office most Mondays 11-2, sometimes 3.  We’ll try to post on our message boards when they’re here.  If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out.  Go see Cassandra on Mondays, support a great local business, and treat yourself to a delicious, authentic Mexican lunch🌮🌮🌮
  • Water Aerobics will be held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:00, weather permitting.
  • The pool will be opening at 9:00!  There are many times when folks are there super early and it can’t be serviced.  We have to add chemicals and vacuum many mornings, both of which can’t be done with swimmers.
  • The new pool pump seems to be working properly.  Fingers crossed that it stays that way.
  • The AP Facebook page hits a 5000 follower milestone, we hope you’re following along for updates, pictures and videos of this place we’re all lucky enough to call home!  We appreciate your support, likes and comments.
  • Split rail fencing repaired and deck boards replaced on the boardwalk and docks.
  • The Darlington home on Wild Turkey Lane closes, welcome to the neighborhood Steve & Wendy!
  • The All Joy Outfitter’s Cottage closes, welcome to the neighborhood Vick & Shelly!
  • The Sapphire model home closes, welcome to the neighborhood Scott & Mareen!

  • REPORT FORM: if you have an idea, maintenance request, complaint, etc you need to use the AP REPORT FORM linked here and posted in your document library.  This form is submitted to the Advisory Committee and added to the agenda for the next meeting, answers will be posted in the meeting minutes.  Requests not on this form will not be considered, however if there is something that needs immediate attention, please call the office 252-249-9833.
  • Boardwalk to the river: golf carts, bikes and pedestrians only.  NO PARKING ANYWHERE ON THE GRASS OR ROAD at the end of Brightleaf.  There is plenty of parking on the riverside for golf carts.  Signs and posts have been added.
  • PARKING RULE:  trailers, campers and watercraft cannot be parked in a driveway or on a homesite for more than 14 days, within a 60-day period.  Park in AP’s storage area or one of the many storage facilities in the county.
  • Email peyton@arlingtonplace.com if you need an invite to join our private neighborhood message board on NextDoor.com.  Edit your notification settings if you’re getting too many emails.
  • IT TAKES A VILLAGE: AP is HUGE and we can’t be everywhere at once.  We often get messages about minor issues and would love if neighbors could help out with the little stuff.  So many of you are already doing this and we appreciate it more than you know, but we’d love more folks to pitch in.  Of course, there are many things that we’d never ask/expect you to take care of and for those things, you can fill out the REPORT FORM.  Thanks in advance!!!
