December 2019 Neighborhood Update

Dec 30, 2019 | Neighborhood Progress

  • Homesite 366 on S Brightleaf Drive goes under contract.
  • Welcome to the neighborhood, Ron Thompson… all the way from Vermont!  Ron is the new owner of homesite 54 on Mill Creek Drive.
  • Advisory Committee meeting held on December 4th, minutes found HERE.
  • Complete reserve study received for the APPOA.  As mentioned in previous updates, the study maps out 30 years of potential neighborhood expenses, which will help the APPOA better plan for the future.
  • We celebrated Mayo Boddie’s 90th birthday at his childhood home, Rosehill Plantation.  Mayo is the co-founder of Boddie Noell and is still very active with the development of Arlington Place.  Here’s a neat video of Mayo: WATCH HERE
  • CAMA dock issues resolved.  Docks will be permitted according to the 2012 approved covenants.
    • CAMA permit received for a dock on Mill Creek at 50 Point Comfort Lane.
  • Welcome to the neighborhood Tom Bland & Mary Weingart.  Tom and Mary are the new owners of homesite 278 and we already love the cool creek front home they will be building!
  • The Annual Neighborhood Oyster Roast was held on December 15th.  Such a fun time celebrating the holidays with so many neighbors!
  • Homesite 340 on Pintail Drive goes under contract.
  • Ice machine added to the gate house.  Blair will try to keep the clubhouse fridge stocked with bags of ice this summer for owners to use.  Cooler use only, not for consumption.
  • A special Advisory Committee meeting was held on December 20th to discuss the reserve study, minutes found HERE.
  • Homesites #110 and #111 on Wild Swan Lane go under contract.
  • MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the annual Arlington Place Property Owner’s Association meeting.  This year’s meeting will be held on Thursday, January 16th.  A neighborhood meet and greet will begin at 5:00 followed by the annual meeting.
  • 2020 APPOA draft budgets circulated to Seaside Management, the Board and the Advisory Committee.
  • The next Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for January 6th.  Please email an Advisory Committee member if you would like anything added to the agenda.  Email addresses found HERE.
  • As a big political year approaches, we would like to ask that neighbors refrain from posting political signs in their yards.  ‘Bootleg signs’ (the corrugated temporary signs) are not permitted as outlined on page 24, section VIII of the AP Design and Development Standards.
  • 2020 vendor contracts signed with On the Edge Landscaping, Maid for You, Total Land and Circle Squared Publishing.
  • Stay in touch with AP life on FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM (@arlingtonplace) and HOOTBOARD (neighborhood message board).  To request a Hootboard invite, email peyton@arlingtonplace.com
