Love, Loss, and What I Wore
"Love, Loss, and What I Wore" is a play written by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman. Monologues and ensemble pieces follow fragmented stories about the nostalgic power of women’s clothing. A cast of five women enrobed in black sit on stools and tell funny, wistful and universal memories about their families and loved ones through the prism of their closets. It is about women, clothes and memories covering all the important subjects like mothers, proms, mothers, buying bras, mothers, hating purses, and why we only wear black. It is funny and powerful, a reminder of our female wiles, worries, and insecurities. Five local actresses portray multiple characters: Nelda Coates, Elaine Creel, Jessica Russo, Gail Vergato, and Christine Wager. "Love, Loss, and What I Wore" is produced by the Old Theater’s production company, Pamlico Players, under the leadership of Per Erichsen and directed by Deirdre Murray. Tickets are $25 for general admission; $20 for Old Theater members, military, and students. Tickets are also available at Nautical Wheelers in Oriental and New Bern. https://www.facebook.com/events/1375299673605152/
