    Furniture and Decorative Arts of Tryon Palace Tour: From Paintings and Porcelain to Tea Tables and Toys Visit the Palace for a morning tour of some of our hidden gems including wonderful furniture, ceramics, silver, and paintings. This new tour has been developed by two long-time docents and Collections staff. Learn where these objects came from, their history, and all their quirks and secrets. A member of the Collections team will open desks and drawers, allowing visitors an up-close look at these seldom-seen objects and furniture details. The tour requires a minimum of 4 tickets sold by 5pm the day before the tour. There is a maximum of 15 tickets sold.

  • Discover Tryon Palace: Life on the Lesser Stairs

    The Palace often conjures images of the Governors and their families who called the building home. What often is missing from the picture, however, is the number of staff, free and enslaved, who cooked the food, cared for the horses, emptied the chamber pots, and anything else that was required to make a life of luxury possible. “Life on the Lesser Stairs” will take you on a tour of the Palace, Stables, and Kitchen Office to shine a light on the individuals who also called the Palace home but whose lives were not as glamorous. Tour goes to the Palace, Stables, and Kitchen Office first floors. Space is limited on each tour and flash photography is prohibited. Tours may involve walking and climbing stairs.

    You’re Invited to the Rhythm Revolution! Join us for a quick session of infectious beats and community connection at our Community Drum Circle Event! This event will occur prior to our Riggsbee Road Concert! No experience necessary and we provide the drums. You just bring your enthusiasm and energy! What is a drum circle? A community drum circle is a vibrant gathering where people of all ages and skill levels come together to create music and bond through rhythm. Without any prior experience required, participants sit in a circle and improvise together, allowing the instruments to harmonize and eventually form a collective song.

    Join us for Beer, Bronzer & Bonded! Engle Permanent Co. will be popping up in the shop to provide permanent jewelry & Piercing services. (APPOINTMENTS recommended for spots guaranteed) For added fun, we will be offering Beettan spray tans (Organic) for $20 OFF and we will be serving beer to sip while you shop, with a coupon! Be sure to book your appt ASAP, as these events book quickly! Appts are in 10 minute intervals, per ONE piece of Jewelry. If you want more than ONE piece, book 2 back to back appointments.
