Craven Arts Council & Gallery is seeking submissions for our new DownEast Youth Film Scholarship, OPEN NOW! This program seeks to promote interest and careers in the field of film making, by providing recipients with money to support the purchase of equipment or other needs related to the creation of films. Applicants will be challenged to create an original film between five and thirty minutes in length, to showcase their ability and vision. North Carolina native Bryan Mayer, with his towering height of 6'8" and powerful voice, has made a strong impact on the Country music scene. The singer/songwriter had several songs hit the national charts such as "This is Me" and "Lil' Bit Naughty", and has won the coveted CMA Best Male Country Artist of the Year. He has since recorded his original songs and videos in Nashville and has been compared to James Taylor and Jimmy Buffet. On December 15th, Bryan will be bringing Christmas Country to The Old Theater's contribution to The Spirit of Christmas in Oriental.
