2 events,The Palace often conjures images of the Governors and their families who called the building home. What often is missing from the picture, however, is the number of staff, free and enslaved, who cooked the food, cared for the horses, emptied the chamber pots, and anything else that was required to make a life of luxury possible. “Life on the Lesser Stairs” will take you on a tour of the Palace, Stables, and Kitchen Office to shine a light on the individuals who also called the Palace home but whose lives were not as glamorous. Tour goes to the Palace, Stables, and Kitchen Office first floors. Space is limited on each tour and flash photography is prohibited. Tours may involve walking and climbing stairs. |

4 events,Morgan Hudson is BACK!!!!!!! Join us and this beauty with such an awesome voice and vibe!!!!!! Von Attica, or “of the Attic” is an original rock trio made up of North Carolina’s Blake Samperi, Jacob White, and Sean Mabe; all of which have been impacted by the roaring age of Rock n’ Roll and its lasting effects on modern music. Influences of the 1960s, 70s and 80s sound are evident in thier writing and performance style, and the energy and chemistry in performance is contagious. If you’re a fan of Soundgarden or Guns n’ Roses you’re likely a fan of Von Attica… or will be soon. They launched thier first album in fall of 2023 at The Athens Theatre and NBCT looks forward to welcoming them back to center stage for MumFest weekend. |
4 events,Your favorite foursome!!!! Doc & Roll is back again!!! It is ALWAYS a fantastic time with these guys!!!! New Bern’s best (& only) improv comedy group is back for another show with guaranteed laughs! The comedy group has become a favorite among the downtown nightlife scene and you’re invited to join the fun! Every Walk-In Bathtub show is different because audience suggestions fuel the ridiculous riffs, wacky worlds and silly situations (alliteration may vary) that unravel on stage. Similar to improv games played on the TV show “Whose line is it anyway?”, Walk-In Bathtub promises a night you won’t be able to forget… no matter how hard you try. Rated due to the unpredictable nature of improvisation (and sometimes, the unpredictable nature of some of our audience’s suggestions). Presented as part of the Encore Local Series @ NBCT |
