- Life as we know it has drastically changed this month. The COVID-19 virus has brought the nation to a standstill and it seems like new information is being thrown at us daily. I think I speak for all of us when I say how lucky we feel to live in a place like this, at a time like this. A few things to note:
- At this time the office (deemed as an essential business) will remain open, staffed with one person daily. Please email/call/text should you need anything. We may transition to work remotely but will always be available on site if needed.
- Though not required, we have made the decision to suspend all rental cottage reservations with check in dates after Monday March 29th for a 30 day period. This may be extended depending on new developments with the virus and government regulations. We feel this is the most responsible way to handle the rentals at this time.
If you use the workout room… PLEASE wipe down equipment before and after. Bring your own wipes, ours are in short supply. We’ve tried to get more but stores/online are out of stock. We ask that owners use common sense when using the amenities, keeping your distance and taking extra safety precautions.- CORRECTION: as of 4/2/20, like many other neighborhoods, we are closing the clubhouse, sports courts and playground until further notice. Given the circumstances, we want to be proactive in doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our neighborhood and residents.
- According to the Pamlico County, all state pool inspections are on hold “until further notice.” We had planned on having it open early this year, but are at their mercy. When this restriction is lifted, we will get on the inspection schedule but have been told that it might not be a quick turn around.
- Clubhouse events have been cancelled or postponed.
- The Cycle NC and Chowder Cook-off events have been cancelled, the Oriental Boat show has been postponed until September.
- Split rail fencing installed at the gate to the beach road and on the bluff at the beach by the parking area.
- Future development layout was presented to the Town of Minnesott Beach planning board on March 3rd. There being no objections from the board to the preliminary layout, the developer will proceed with detailed platting of roads, amenities and homesites.
- Pinestraw and spring landscaping throughout the neighborhood… everything is turning green and colorful, and our porches are turning yellow!
- Dock and boat house built on homesite 278 on Mill Creek.
- Welcome to the neighborhood to the Snider family! The Sniders, a family of 5 from Iowa, are the new owners of the Cotton Gin home at 51 Cotton Court.
- Advisory Committee meeting held March 16th. Minutes found HERE.
- New model home designed for lot 366 on South Brightleaf Drive.
- The riverfront beach is starting to look great! Though we cancelled the group clean up, please help us rake (we left a rake) and pile rocks on the jetties when you are down there… it’s a great workout!
- Homesite 276 on West Burton Farm Drive sold and closed.
- New home building permits received for lot 196 on Palm Court and lot 4 on Azalea Court.
- Have a good vendor that you’d like to share with your neighbors? We will be compiling a preferred vendor list for everyone from dentists to exterminators and need your help! Please send names and info to peyton@arlingtonplace.com so they can be added to the list. The list will then be posted in the Document Library in our OWNERS section of the website.
